Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on the Med-Surg unit, adhering to established protocols and standards.
• Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals, including charge nurses and nurse aides, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient conditions, interpret EKG strips, and administer medications as prescribed.
• Participate in the holiday rotation schedule and work every other weekend as required.
• Utilize the EMR system (EPIC) for accurate documentation and patient management.

Requirements:

• Current RN license and BLS certification.
• Experience in a Med-Surg setting preferred.
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:5-6, with occasional increases based on acuity.
• Willingness to float to Critical Care if necessary, managing Med-Surg or stepdown patients.
• No false nails are permitted while on duty.

Additional Information:

• 12-hour shifts from 7a - 7p; 7p - 7a.
• Floor-specific orientation will be provided with a preceptor for 1-2 shifts.
• Common diagnoses include CHF, cardiac cath, CP, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, ortho, and oncology.
• Support from an in-house pharmacy and IV team available until 10 pm on weekdays and 3:30 pm on weekends.
• Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 for patient care needs.
