Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Nephrology unit, requiring Med/Surg and Stepdown experience along with dialysis site care knowledge.

Details

• Medicine/Nephrology unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for patients requiring central line, foley, and end-of-life care management
• Requires proper dialysis site care, including avoiding improper use of HD catheters or fistulas for blood draws
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly

Requirements

• Active OK state or compact multistate RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Charge nurse experience is a plus
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and techniques
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care to a varied patient population with conditions ranging from simple to complex
• Administers medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and communicates changes in physician orders
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Collaborates with patients and families on care plans and discharge education
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no flexibility for start date changes
• 30-day written notice required to cancel or end an assignment early
