Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Stepdown night shift position requiring 2 years of med surg experience and comfort floating between units.

Details

• Work on a 29-bed general surgical and orthopedic unit with medical overflow
• Frequently floats between Med Surg, Stepdown, and MS/Tele units
• Patient ratios are approximately 1:4-5 on Stepdown and 1:5-6 on Med Surg
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Schedule includes weekdays, every other weekend, and holidays as needed
• Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of med surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to frequent floating
• IV start skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across Med Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units with frequent floating within the hospital
• Floating assignments follow facility policy and include appropriate orientation to new units
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white required
• Holiday and weekend coverage required in rotation with staff
• Minimal to no RTO approved, especially during the first weeks of assignment
• First-time travelers accepted
• Candidates must not live within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates not accepted
• Previous employees must have been gone at least 1 year and left in good standing to be considered
• Candidates with license or background issues will not be accepted
