Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Step Down position requiring prior Med/Surg and stepdown experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Work in the Medicine Step Down unit of a hospital setting
• Care for patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours)
• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State or Compact/eNLC) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Full DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting nursing interventions and medical treatments
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administer medications and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge information
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Credentialing and onboarding must begin immediately due to strict compliance deadlines
• Travelers may extend one time for a maximum total assignment length of 26 weeks, with a required 6-month separation before reapplying
• 30-day written notice required for early cancellation or termination of assignment
