Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 42-bed orthopaedic unit requiring Trauma Level II experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

  • 42-bed Medical Surgical unit specializing in post-operative orthopaedic cases, trauma, ortho spine, medicine, and plastics
  • Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
  • 36 or 48 hour contract options available
  • Patient ratios of 1:5-6 during the day and 1:6 at night
  • Floating required, including to MS/Tele units
  • Every other weekend required
  • 50% holiday coverage required
  • Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

  • Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
  • LTAC experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Experience with 1:5 patient ratios
  • Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
  • Ability to work in an environment with routine exposure to contagious illnesses

Additional Information

  • Provide post-operative care to orthopaedic, trauma, spine, medicine, and plastics patients
  • Position is in a 24/7 healthcare facility requiring rotating shifts and willingness to work during inclement weather
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Local candidates accepted, though those within 50 miles are not eligible and those 51-74 miles away are offered a local rate
  • Local candidates will not be eligible for contract extensions beyond the initial assignment
  • Maximum of 10 days RTO allowed, with none available during the first week due to orientation
