Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a night shift teaching hospital position requiring MA licensure, telemetry experience, and floating to any Med Surg unit.
Details
- Med Surg/Telemetry unit within a teaching hospital setting
- Unit size ranges from 20 to 34 beds depending on the unit
- Typical patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required, with holidays required if needed
- Floating to any Med Surg unit required, block scheduling not offered
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required and must be in hand
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required and must be in hand at time of profile upload
- Minimum 2 years of current Medical Surgical experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly required
- Meditech Expanse experience highly preferred
- Must have own vehicle for this assignment
- Skills checklist for Medical Surgical experience current to 1 year required
- One signed supervisory reference from within the past two years required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care on a busy Med Surg/Telemetry unit with a focus on floating support across units
- Personal scrubs of any color permitted
- Includes 8 hours of non-billable orientation
- Must work two holiday blocks if scheduled/needed: Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and following weekend
- No more than 5 days of RTO accepted, and all RTO requests must be submitted prior to interview/offer
- Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates seeking to work this assignment in conjunction with another permanent placement or travel assignment will not be considered
