Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking qualified candidates for the role of a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical specialty. This position involves providing care in a fast-paced environment that focuses on post-operative patients, including those undergoing hip and knee surgeries, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries.

Shift Details

• Nights, 4x12 hour shifts
• 48 hours per week or a 36-hour option
• Holiday rotation: Must work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
• Every 3rd weekend required
• No call responsibilities

Unit Information

• Bed Size: 30
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
• Patient Types: Post-operative patients including those with hip/knee surgeries, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries
• Drips: PCA, Heparin
• Work alongside an emotional support canine

Qualifications

• 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting (required)
• Post-operative surgical experience (highly preferred)
• Experience with patient care in hip/knee surgeries, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries (highly preferred)
• Experience with PCA and Heparin (required)
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records (required)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Certification Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA

Additional Information

• Candidates will be required to float across multiple units within the region.
• Local radius rule: Candidates must reside outside of a 50-mile radius from the specified location.
