Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Interventional Radiology will be responsible for protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities while preventing illness and injury. The RN serves as a primary nurse and is responsible and accountable for compliance with standards of practice, regulatory requirements, and policies. The RN will also promote a caring environment for patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
• Utilize knowledge of pharmacology to safely administer medications according to policies.
• Share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization including management of staffing and supplies.
• Comply with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
• Actively participate in Nursing Shared Governance Model and improvement initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and complete all mandatory education requirements.
• Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.

Required Experience

• Six (6) months to three (3) years of nursing (RN) experience.
• Five (5+) years of direct experience preferred.
• Experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current NYS RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Preferred: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty; relevant skills certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC).
