Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring an active IL RN license and Epic charting experience at a Level 1 Trauma facility.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• Six weekend shifts required per six-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday
• Floating to similar units required
• Uses Epic EMR for charting

Requirements

• Active RN license (Illinois) currently in hand, temporary license accepted
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, care planning, and patient education for a designated group of Med/Surg patients
• Receive bedside shift report and validate safe patient room environment at start of each shift
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks assigned to Health Care Technicians
• Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety measures
• Use critical thinking and nursing judgment to identify and respond to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service before returning
