Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical Unit. This unit provides a dynamic and challenging environment for nurses to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse patient population, including post-surgical cases and those with various medical conditions.

Shift Details:

• 36 hours per week
• Every Other Weekend required
• No On Call responsibilities

Unit Overview:

The Medical Surgical Unit features 60 beds with mixed acuity, catering to patients with traumas, strokes, and hospice care. Our environment is fast-paced and offers exceptional learning opportunities while ensuring safety and delivering quality care that supports positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on thorough assessments.
• Engage in lifelong learning through professional development, certifications, and continuing education.
• Demonstrate leadership by being a clinical resource and professional role model among peers.
• Utilize effective communication strategies with team members and patients, including the SBAR technique.
• Exhibit solid time management skills to enhance team productivity and performance.
• Perform additional duties as directed to support patient care and unit objectives.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of direct Med Surg experience (not float, SDU, or TELE).
• Experience in a Level II or I Trauma unit is preferred.
• Active Michigan RN license is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA is mandatory.
