  • Patient Ratio: 5:1 days; 6:1 nights
  • Floating: May float to other Medical/Surgical units as needed

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Current BLS certification through AHA
  • Active RN license eligible for submission; willing to wait for licensure if needed
  • Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced acute care environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for general medical and surgical patients in an acute care hospital setting
  • Complete initial admissions and ongoing care for patients awaiting transfer to their assigned unit
  • Monitor patient status, identify changes in condition, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in EPIC
  • Administer medications and therapies safely using available unit equipment and resources
  • Collaborate with peers and support floating assignments across Med/Surg areas when needed
  • Maintain a professional, patient-centered approach in a dynamic hospital nursing environment
