Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position at a Level II trauma teaching hospital, requiring strong renal, urology, and transplant care experience.
Details
- 22-bed Med/Surg unit caring for general medical-surgical patients including renal, transplant, and urology cases
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Night shift, 4x12s totaling 48 hrs/week (36 hrs/week accommodations available upon request)
- Floating required across campuses to like units at Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist
- Every other or every 3rd weekend required depending on staffing and census
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Minimum 24 months of Med/Surg experience in a hospital/medical center setting required
- Strong experience in renal and urology care required
- Proficient transplant care experience required
- At least one travel contract completed within the previous 15 months required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level II trauma experience required
- Level I trauma experience highly preferred
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
Additional Information
- Provide general Med/Surg nursing care including renal, transplant, and urology patient populations
- Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center with academic and ancillary services
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Holiday coverage required for 1-2 of the upcoming winter holidays, including mandatory availability for Thanksgiving
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the position
- Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at any UnityPoint Health facility if employed within the past 12 months
