Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring 2+ years of Med Surg/Oncology experience and an active IA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Surgical/Oncology unit within a Level 3 Trauma Center
  • Patient population includes orthopedic, urology, general surgery, oncology, and medical cases
  • Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Required to work every third weekend
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required within the same discipline across local campuses
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (IA or compact) required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (NIHSS may be obtained during onboarding)
  • 2+ years of Med Surg and/or Oncology experience required
  • High-acuity care experience preferred
  • Required experience administering Heparin, PCA, and epidural drips
  • Chemo drip experience accepted if certified
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • Supervisory reference/performance evaluation from within the last two years required
  • Skills checklist specific to Med Surg required

Additional Information

  • Contribute professional and clinical knowledge as part of an interdisciplinary care team
  • Navy blue scrub color required
  • Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day)
  • Limited to 1 day off request during designated holiday blackout periods
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply; prior travel experience preferred
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
  • Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) may be ineligible for travel assignments in other markets within 12 months of separation
