Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Inpatient overflow Med/Surg unit within a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• 12-hour day shifts scheduled 7:00AM-7:30PM, 3 days per week
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Floating requirement of 3 holidays per year
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic EMR for charting

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in time management, critical thinking, documentation, medication administration, and interdisciplinary collaboration

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, care planning, and patient education for a designated group of Med/Surg patients
• Receives bedside shift report and delegates tasks to healthcare care technicians (HCTs) while validating task completion
• Maintains patient safety through fall precautions, isolation protocols, and hourly rounding
• Facilitates timely admission, discharge, and testing processes for observation status patients
• Promotes a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused unit culture
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not be on assignment for more than 1 year at this health system without a 6-month break in service before returning
