Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg RN for a 13-week Days assignment at a level 1 trauma center, requiring at least 1 year of Med Surg/Post Op/Stepdown experience and both IL and IA RN licensure.

Details

  • Surgical/Orthopedic Med Surg unit within a level 1 trauma center
  • 12-hour Day shifts, 6:45 AM start
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Patient ratio of 5-7 patients per nurse
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • May be required to float within the same discipline across local campuses

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required at time of submission
  • IA RN license also required, or proof of application for IA single-state or compact license
  • BLS certification (AHA) required
  • Minimum 1 year of Med Surg, Post Op, or Stepdown experience required
  • Surgical or post-op surgical experience required
  • At least 1 completed travel contract preferred
  • One supervisory reference from within the past 2 years required
  • Valid driver's license required for consideration
  • Completed skills checklist within 1 year of submission required

Additional Information

  • Provide professional/clinical care as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Must not have been employed by the facility within the past 12 months
  • Holiday coverage required, including 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving)
  • Limited time-off requests permitted during peak holiday periods
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
  • First-time travelers may be considered
