Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg

Unit Information

Location: Arlington, TX

Unit: 3 Tower (622)

Number of Beds: 30

Staffing:

• Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 4-5 RNs (if unit census supports), 2 PCTs, 1 HUC, and 1-3 Sitters
• Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 4-5 RNs (if unit census full), 2 PCTs, and 1-3 Sitters (depending on patient population)

Patient Ratios: 6:1

Equipment: Hoyer lifts, Sara Steady, bladder scanners

EMR System: Meditech

Floating Requirement: Based on hospital needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced environment.
• Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed.
• Assist with post-surgical care, including patients recovering from procedures such as cholecystectomy and cystoscopy with stent placement.
• Monitor and manage pain for patients, including those undergoing CIWA protocols.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience as a Med Surg or acute care RN
• Preferred:
  • Additional Med Surg or acute care experience
  • Previous experience in HCA settings
