Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring oncology experience and comfort managing step-down patients.

Details

  • Medical/Oncology unit caring for patients with cancer diagnoses, medical step-down patients, and general medical overflow
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • No call requirements
  • Required to accept step-down patients
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active Michigan (MI) RN license required (compact license not accepted)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
  • Oncology experience required
  • Must be comfortable caring for step-down patients
  • Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
  • Epic EMR experience highly preferred
  • Skills checklist pertinent to Med/Surg, current within 1 year, required for consideration
  • Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required for consideration
  • Permanent address required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Perform nursing assessments and provide direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, and responding to call lights and alarms
  • Collaborate with the care team to evaluate and update treatment plans based on patient condition
  • Process and follow up on physician orders accurately and in a timely manner
  • Navy blue scrub dress code
  • Facility maintains a 50-mile radius restriction and does not consider local candidates
  • No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted during the assignment
