Description

American Traveler is seeking a Medical Surgical RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and an active CA RN license.

Details

  • Medical Surgical unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Cerner charting system experience required
  • Wide range of med/surg skills utilized including IV therapy, wound care, telemetry monitoring, and management of various post-surgical and medical conditions

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required in-hand
  • CPI Blue Card from the Crisis Prevention Institute required for ER and Float Pool nurses (MAB or online certification not accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
  • Community hospital and LTAC experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required and must be reflected in work history
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Two supervisor references required at time of application

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care to med/surg patients including IV therapy, wound care, telemetry monitoring, and post-surgical management
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
  • Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least one year to return as a traveler
  • Manager interview may or may not be required
  • RTO requests must be submitted with the application and cannot be changed after manager review
  • No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days preferred per 13-week contract
