Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position on the Acute Orthopedics unit, requiring a New Mexico or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Details
- Acute Orthopedics unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 13-week assignment
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Weekend rotation required, 2 to 4 shifts per month
- On-call rotation required, 2 to 4 shifts per month
- Floating required to all Med/Surg departments under the same nurse manager
- Uses EPIC EMR system
- Full-time work type
Requirements
- Current New Mexico RN license or compact state RN license required
- BLS certification via AHA required
- 1 year of related nursing specialty experience preferred
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
- Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers
- Delegate and coordinate care with other providers as needed
- Grey scrubs required as part of dress code
- Must reside within a 50 mile radius for local candidate consideration
- Previous CHRISTUS Health System employees must have a 6-month separation period before starting a travel assignment
