Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience and one prior 13-week travel assignment.

Details

  • Surg/Nursing unit within a hospital setting
  • 12-hour night shift schedule (1700-0500), 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
  • Floating between departments and/or local facilities within 20 miles is required
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred; on-site training available

Requirements

  • Active NM or Compact State RN license required
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
  • ADN or ASN degree required
  • Minimum 2 years current experience in specialty required
  • At least one prior 13-week travel assignment required
  • Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

  • Provides direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation
  • Coordinates care with patients, families, and the healthcare team
  • Administers medications and treatments per physician orders and established protocols
  • Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
  • Completes population-specific and procedure/protocol education and competency testing per unit standards
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
  • Previous permanent staff must wait one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • First-time travelers may be considered given required travel assignment experience
