Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 16-week night shift assignment at a rehabilitation teaching hospital, requiring a WA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

  • Medical Surgical unit within a rehabilitation teaching hospital
  • 91 staffed beds
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
  • Patient ratios of 1:6-8
  • Floating between units required
  • Weekends required, minimum every other weekend
  • No on-call requirements
  • 48-hour work weeks approved
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response
  • Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management
  • Experience with non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
  • Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide Med/Surg nursing care including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and respiratory support
  • May be required to float between sister facilities within the state
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
  • Scrubs of any color accepted for all units
  • No parking fees
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including dates and locations
