Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on Medical Surgical units, including an Observation/ER Overflow unit focused on rapid admission and discharge cycles with continuous reassessment of patient readiness for discharge
• Maintain staffing ratios of 1:5–6 on nights; ratios may flex to 1:8 with LPN support as needed
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and Techs to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
• Float to other Med Surg units based on census and staffing needs, typically approximately once per week
• Work every other weekend as part of the standard schedule
• Holiday availability is required; holiday time-off requests will be addressed on-site with the manager and are not pre-approved

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Willingness to float to other units and work with a variety of clinical staff (RNs, LPNs, Techs)
• Flu vaccination required; exemption requests must be submitted within 48 hours of contract signing
• Supervisor-level references required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred; candidates with extensive permanent/staff experience will also be considered
• Experience in a fast-paced Medical Surgical or Observation/ER Overflow environment
• Comfort working in high-acuity settings with rapidly changing patient populations
