Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM | Weekends and holidays as needed

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care on a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit managing a variety of diagnoses including pneumonia, UTI, dehydration, influenza, alcohol withdrawal, and surgical cases (orthopedic, general surgery, spinal, and urology)
  • Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6, with the ability to manage a 1:6 assignment; high patient turnover expected, including admissions following discharges
  • Titrate and manage drips including Heparin; administer set-rate drips such as Bumex and Lasix
  • Conduct bedside shift report and perform proactive patient rounding; collaborate with CNAs by assisting with call lights and supporting a team-based care environment
  • Utilize EPIC for all clinical documentation
  • May float to the IMCU for Medical Surgical assignments as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN licensure applicable to the state of Nebraska
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record documentation
  • Ability to manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Experience working night shifts
  • Must reside at least 45 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with titratable drips, including Heparin protocols
  • Familiarity with respiratory therapy equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and tracheostomy care
  • Experience working alongside cardiac monitoring technicians and understanding of telemetry workflows
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
