Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift telemetry unit role requiring at least 1 year of recent specialty experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg telemetry unit (4 West) in a hospital setting with 28 beds
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 7:00PM-7:00AM
• 4 weekend shifts required per 28-day schedule with holiday rotation
• Floating required, following unit rotation policy with other staff
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Unit supported by Clinical Coordinators, Unit Secretary, PCTs, and Case Management
• Utilizes equipment such as walkers, IV pumps, and SCDs

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Experience with respiratory, renal, and GI diseases, telemetry, CVCs, indwelling catheters, and heparin drips preferred
• Oncology and general surgery patient experience preferred but not required
• Strong teamwork, compassion, collaboration, and communication skills required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg telemetry unit
• Navy blue scrubs required as part of dress code
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Facility patient experience score goal of 72%, utilizing communication boards to support patient engagement
