Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a GA or compact license and a strict 75-mile residency radius.

Details

• Inpatient Surgical (Med/Surg) unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 with charge nurse support on each unit
• CNA support generally at 1:8 to 1:10 ratios, with occasional 1:1 pulling and sitters
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Low census on-call requirement
• Floating required to Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW units
• Floor-specific orientation provided
• Uses MEDITECH EMR
• Telemetry monitoring available on different units
• Ventilator equipment includes BIPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, and Draeger
• 24/7 RT and pharmacy support available
• OB/Neonatologist in house
• PICC line support available, no dedicated IV team

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Must be flexible with changing unit assignments during a shift

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit with support from charge nurses, CNAs, and ancillary services
• Holiday coverage rotates with permanent staff
• Scrub color required: Caribbean Blue
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for placement
• Candidates previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
