Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical care within a 28-bed unit. The patient-nurse ratio is 1:6, ensuring manageable workloads for our nursing staff.

Unit Information

• Unit Name: 4 West
• Staffing Composition: Clinical Coordinators, Unit Secretary, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Case Management
• Equipment Utilized: Walkers, IV pumps, Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs), and more
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Weekend Shifts: 4 shifts per 28-day schedule, with holiday rotation as applicable
• Floating Policy: Staff may be required to float to other units as necessary
• Patient Experience Goal: 72% satisfaction utilizing communication boards

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and collaborative care to a diverse patient population.
• Administer medication and perform clinical procedures associated with medical-surgical nursing.
• Utilize advanced skills in caring for patients with various respiratory, renal, and gastrointestinal diseases, as well as central venous catheters and indwelling catheters.
• Implement and advocate for best practices to enhance patient experience and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Required: Current RN license.
• Must Have: Strong teamwork, compassion, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Preferred: Experience in oncology and general surgery patient care.

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

Dress Code

Required uniform consists of navy blue scrubs.
