Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring a TN or compact RN license and 2 years of experience.

Details

• 28-bed Med Surg/Telemetry unit on the 2nd floor
• Patient ratios of 5-6:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Unit staffed with a unit secretary and 2-3 PCTs on days
• Equipment used includes Sara Steady lift, Wound Vac, Tele Health, Virtual Sitter equipment, and remote telemetry
• Documentation performed in Meditech
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required with flexible weekdays
• Floating required on a PRN basis, most often between Med Surg units
• Procedures performed on the unit include IV and foley catheter placement

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; NIH Stroke and CPI certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong assessment skills required
• Experience with IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing cabinets required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
• One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, hourly rounding, and bedside shift report (BSSR)
• Required dress code is black or royal blue scrubs
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered
