Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring at least 1 year of recent specialty experience and TN or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Med/Surg unit with 30 beds and a 1:6 patient ratio
• Staffing includes 2-3 techs per shift, clinical coordinator, charge nurse, manager, and director
• Equipment used includes wound vac, heparin gtt, suction, IV pumps, glucometers, bladder scanner, feeding pump, and telemetry
• Documentation via Editech EMR
• 13-week assignment with 7:00PM-7:00AM shift schedule
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Floating required between 2 North and 2 West units

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Skills required: IV starts, NGT placement, wound care, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Experience with lab draws and IV starts on the unit
• No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Responsible for providing direct patient care including IV starts, wound care, and cardiac monitoring
• Expected to maintain a positive attitude, meet patient and family needs, and escalate concerns through proper chain of command
• Required dress code: navy scrubs, no fleece or sweatshirts
