Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring a NC or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience with one completed travel assignment.

Details

  • Medical Surgical unit in a 205-licensed-bed hospital with a 48-bed unit
  • Adult patient population with 1:6 patient ratios
  • Day shift schedule from 7A-7P
  • Weekend coverage required every other weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Rare floating possible to inpatient rehab or ER for tasking
  • Uses Paragon EHR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience required, including at least 1 completed travel assignment
  • Must be able to start IVs, insert foley catheters, and insert NG tubes
  • Experience performing EKGs and managing heparin drips required
  • Experience with high-turnover units and 1:6 patient ratios preferred

Additional Information

  • Works in a Joint Commission accredited, Duke Lifepoint-affiliated hospital with an 'A' LeapFrog Hospital Safety Rating
  • Facility features the region's largest and most comprehensive ED and a free-standing ED, along with an advanced ICU and PCU
  • Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel pay rate
  • Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
  • Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
