Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg nursing or related acute care experience
• Strong time management skills in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment with short lengths of stay
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient care skills
• Experience in post-op surgical care preferred
• Comfort working in a patient-centered setting with an outgoing, customer service-oriented approach

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for post-operative medical-surgical patients
• Monitor and maintain surgical procedure sites
• Perform wound care, including packing, dressing changes, and wound vac management
• Manage Foley catheters, continuous bladder irrigation, and ostomy appliances
• Assist with nasogastric tube insertion and suction
• Administer TPN and blood products per protocol
• Perform central line care and dressing changes
• Deliver accurate bedside shift reports and support safe handoffs
• Float to other Medical-Surgical units as needed
• Maintain prompt attendance, open communication, and a professional appearance
