Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring a TX or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

  • Acute Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes typical medical and surgical adult patients, including joint replacement, general abdominal surgery, and spinal surgery cases
  • Adults only, no pediatric patients
  • 13-week assignment on night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Full time schedule

Requirements

  • Active RN license in TX or compact required
  • BLS certification required (AHA only)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • 1 year of related nursing specialty experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care utilizing the full nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
  • Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
  • Assess and address patient and family learning needs, providing education and identifying resources
  • Delegate and make appropriate care assignments to other providers as needed
  • Candidates must be separated from any CHRISTUS Health System facility for at least 6 months prior to starting a new travel assignment
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
