Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Orthopedic and Trauma care. The role involves providing high-quality patient care within a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Location

Kansas City, MO

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 23
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5
• Unit Staffing: Includes Unit Secretaries and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Equipment Used: Traction, fixators, cooling equipment
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, including 3 weekend shifts per schedule period
• Floating Policy: Contract labor is the first to float; may float to other MedSurg level care units (General MedSurg, Nephrology, Neuro/Trauma)
• Patient Experience Standards: Includes bedside shift report and hourly rounding

Qualifications

• Must have: RN license, BLS certification
• Required Experience: Orthopedic experience, Telemetry, NIH Stroke Scale
• Procedures Performed: Post-operative care for knee, hip, and shoulder replacements; Trauma patients; some Neuro overflow cases are common

Candidates will work in a dynamic and challenging environment, providing care for patients experiencing orthopedic trauma and recovery processes.
