Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment at a Level I trauma center requiring 2+ years of experience.

Details

• 29-bed medical-surgical unit caring for patients of all ages, some with telemetry orders
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
• Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Required to work up to 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required if department has a need

Requirements

• Active RN license (OK or compact) required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care including implementing and monitoring patient care plans
• Serves as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carries out physician and nursing orders and communicates patient condition
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Works in a Level I trauma center environment serving all ages
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
