Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg

Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med Surg unit. The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients with diverse medical needs, adhering to established protocols and maintaining a compassionate approach.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 12
• Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per RN
• Unit Staffing Description: 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT)
• Type of Equipment: General Med-Surg
• Documentation System: Meditech

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Delivering direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educating patients and their families about health conditions and treatment plans.
• Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.
• Participating in unit quality improvement initiatives.

Scheduling Requirements

Candidates must be available to work 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule.

Floating Requirements

Participation in facility-wide Med Surg floating as needed.

Patient Experience Requirements

A minimum patient experience score of 75% is required.

Qualifications

• Preferred Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Med-Surg setting.
• Skill Set: Team-oriented and compassionate approach to patient care.

Dress Code

Required uniform: Navy Scrubs.
