Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring AL or compact RN licensure and Level II Trauma experience preferred.

Details

  • Medical Surgical unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00), with an option for 4x12s
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required with possible charge nurse duties as needed
  • Patient to nurse ratio of 1:6
  • 30-minute lunch break required with no skipped meals

Requirements

  • Active RN license (AL or Compact) required
  • Current BLS via AHA required; NIHSS certification preferred
  • Fit Test required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • Level II Trauma experience preferred
  • Travel experience preferred
  • Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs required
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac required
  • Experience with peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration preferred
  • Experience with colostomy/ileostomy care and feeding tube management preferred
  • Experience with Heparin, Insulin, and PCA medication administration preferred
  • Experience with nasal cannula and oxygen administration preferred
  • Experience with surgical drain management preferred
  • Paragon charting system experience preferred
  • Charting system experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients, including wound care and IV therapy
  • Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to apply for this travel position
  • Requested time off limited to a maximum of 7 days
  • Local candidates are considered within a 60-mile radius at a reduced rate
