Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Ortho/Neuro position requiring an active SC or Compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience.

Details

  • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • Med/Surg unit with an Ortho/Neuro patient focus
  • Patient ratio of 1:6–7
  • Every other weekend requirement, including at least Saturday and Sunday
  • No routine on-call requirement; however, if placed on call for a scheduled shift due to census, an 8-hour call requirement applies
  • Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including like units or sister facilities, is required
  • Charting is performed in Epic (experience required)
  • Free parking available

Requirements

  • Active SC RN license or Compact RN license must be in hand prior to start
  • Current BLS certification (AHA only) required; ACLS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Ortho/Neuro med/surg experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level II experience preferred

  • Two professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
  • Valid driver's license required for consideration
  • SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Scrub color: royal blue
  • Pre-start orientation modules are required and completed prior to the assignment start date
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; RTO requests submitted after the fact will not be accepted
  • Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
  • First-time travelers will be considered on an individual basis depending on experience
  • Previous permanent or PRN staff of the MUSC health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November, with peak activity in August and September), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
