Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring an active IL RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

  • Medical Surgical unit setting
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15)
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Floating required
  • Epic charting system used

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required in hand
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
  • Able to interpret dysrhythmias; management of dysrhythmias preferred
  • Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Competent in respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
  • Recent Nursys license verification required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care to medical-surgical patients including respiratory and IV therapy support
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days, with no RTO permitted during the first or last week of the contract
  • Former staff of University of Chicago Medicine, PRN, or Ingalls must have a 7-month separation before returning as a traveler
  • Block scheduling is not accommodated unless specifically requested and approved during the interview process
  • Non-billable orientation modules (2-3 hours) are completed during onboarding
