We are seeking an experienced RN for MSU/PCU Days to provide safe, high-quality nursing care in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital. The RN must have experience across PCU, Telemetry, and Adult Med-Surg and be comfortable flexing between departments based on facility needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to adult patients in PCU, Telemetry, and Med-Surg settings.
- Assess patient and family/significant-other education needs and provide appropriate education.
- Maintain patient safety through preventative measures and proper use of equipment.
- Follow restraint policies, including appropriate evaluation and documentation.
- Demonstrate safe operation and troubleshooting of PCU, Telemetry, and Med-Surg equipment.
- Follow infection-control, isolation, and standard precaution procedures.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and responses.
- Accurately document patient charges.
- Complete physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Complete required 24-hour order checks when applicable to the assigned shift.
- Provide complete and accurate shift-to-shift reports.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and other departments.
- Report critical laboratory values to physicians promptly according to facility policy.
- Maintain and restock emergency carts, patient rooms, and general supplies.
- Flex to other departments as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Active Washington RN License – Required
- Recent experience in PCU, Med-Surg, and Telemetry
- Ability to work across multiple departments as needed
- Strong patient assessment, documentation, communication, and safety skills
- Experience with infection control, isolation precautions, and emergency procedures
