Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with Level I Trauma and ortho/oncology experience for a day shift position at a large hospital.

Details

• Medical Surgical/Orthopedic unit in a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 48 hours per week
• Team nursing model with ratios of 1:12 split between 2 RNs, 2 LPNs, a medication nurse, and charge nurse
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend rotation required as needed
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN state or compact, NLC-compliant) required, no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required; 3+ years preferred
• ADN accepted for this position
• Orthopedic and oncology experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least 1 completed prior travel assignment required
• Cerner experience preferred
• Driver's license copy required at time of consideration
• Vaccination status documentation required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a team nursing structure on a Med/Surg Ortho unit
• Must be willing to work 2 of 3 major end-of-year holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) if all fall during the assignment, or at least 1 of 2 if only two occur
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff and former travelers must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning
• Local candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, strictly enforced
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration, as RTO requests made after an offer will not be guaranteed approval
• Block scheduling is generally not accommodated, though weekend block scheduling may be considered
