Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Float Pool team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telemetry nursing and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Telemetry Float Pool
• Total Beds: 38
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 4:1 to 5:1
• Common Diagnoses: ETOH, DKA, heart failure, sepsis, stroke, GI surgery, GU surgery, joint replacements

Responsibilities

• Titrate medications, including insulin, heparin, amiodarone, and cardizem.
• Read telemetry strips and provide accurate patient assessments.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals, including monitor techs and nurse aides.
• Participate in patient care activities across telemetry and medical-surgical units.

Qualifications

• Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in telemetry or stepdown nursing.
• Certifications: Current ACLS and BLS certification, NIHSS certification preferred.

Work Environment

• Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow Oxygen, and ventilators.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy scrubs required (not provided).

Scheduling

• Weekend Requirements: Varies based on scheduling needs.
• Holiday Requirements: Varies based on scheduling needs.
• Floating: Position involves floating to medical-surgical and telemetry units.

Orientation

New hires will receive specific orientation lasting 1 day per unit to ensure familiarity with protocols and procedures.
