Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN with orthopedic experience for a 13-week travel assignment on a busy ortho/med-surg unit.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit with a focus on orthopedic patient care
• Patient population includes joint replacements, spinal surgery, orthopedic trauma, hand trauma, and fractures
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 0700-1930
• Weekend coverage required every 3rd weekend
• Float requirement between Ortho and Med-Surg units

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD state license or compact license) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg experience within the last 7 years
• Ortho experience required, including peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacement, and surgical drains
• At least one completed travel assignment required for consideration
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the previous 3 years
• Flu vaccine required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to orthopedic and med-surg patients including those recovering from joint replacement, spinal surgery, and trauma
• Skills utilized may include IV therapy, blood product administration, PICC line management, respiratory care, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Candidates with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• First-time travelers are not eligible; at least one prior travel assignment is required
