Registered Nurse - MedSurg Ortho/Neuro
Schedule
This is a full-time position requiring 3 night shifts of 12 hours each per week. Shifts include every other weekend and rotating holidays.
Job Description
The MedSurg Ortho/Neuro unit provides comprehensive care for patients requiring orthopedic and neurological interventions. Nurses in this role will work in a 21-bed unit, ensuring high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for patients with orthopedic and neurological conditions.
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the Charge Nurse.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist with patient admissions and discharges.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members for optimal patient outcomes.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and accurate in the EPIC system.
- Adhere to hospital policies and protocols.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Valid RN license in the state of practice.
- BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of arrhythmias and ability to recognize fatal rhythms.
