Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med Surg/Stepdown position requiring SC or compact licensure and prior stepdown/PCU experience.

Details

  • 22-bed adult Medical Surgical Oncology unit with frequent floating to Stepdown and MS/Tele units
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on Stepdown and 1:5-6 on Med Surg
  • Weekday schedule with every other weekend required
  • Floating required within the facility to PCU-type units as needed
  • EMR: Meditech
  • Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white required

Requirements

  • Active SC or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience required
  • Stepdown or PCU experience required due to floating responsibilities
  • IV start skills required
  • Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide care across Med Surg, Stepdown, and MS/Tele units with frequent floating expected
  • Candidates must be comfortable with high patient-to-caregiver ratios and regular floating
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
  • Holiday and weekend coverage required in rotation with staff
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Facility will not accept candidates with license or background issues
  • Returning staff must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure
  • Minimal to no requested time off will be approved, especially during initial weeks of assignment
