Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg - Neuro unit position requiring surgical experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

  • Medical Surgical - Neuro unit in a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
  • Patient ratio of 1:5-6
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Work every other weekend required

Requirements

  • Active MO or compact RN license in hand required
  • BLS certification required, ACLS and NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Surgical experience required including urology, trauma, orthopedic, general surgery, and ENT diagnoses
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line, and central line management
  • Neurological care experience including CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Experience in orthopedics, ortho trauma, and genitourinary/renal care including pre/post hemodialysis management

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg - Neuro patients including surgical, orthopedic, and renal cases
  • Must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility
  • Holiday rotation coverage required with limited RTO during holidays
  • Pre-start non-billable training modules required, averaging 4 hours
