Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg - Long Term Care position requiring an active MN RN license and 2 years of specialty experience or 3 prior travel assignments.

Details

• Assisted living and long-term care setting within a skilled nursing/rehab environment
• Short-term rehabilitation and transitions of care support
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 36 hours per week
• On-site position with no teleworking options
• Uses Epic for charting
• Facility reserves the option to cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
• Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accredited)
• BLS or BCLS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross)
• Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required, or 3 total travel assignments
• Assisted living and short-term rehab experience required, long-term care experience preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, and delegation skills required
• COVID vaccination and booster required

Additional Information

• Coordinate direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care
• Plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of nursing care for assigned patients
• Provide leadership through preceptor roles, mentoring, and quality improvement initiatives
• Delegate patient care based on skill level, acuity, and available resources
• May participate in committees or specialty projects
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one year from initial start date, after which a 30-60 day break is required before returning
• Background check and drug screening required prior to start, with results needed within approximately 2 weeks
