Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical (Nursing)

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse in the Medical/Surgical Float Pool plays an essential role in providing comprehensive patient care across multiple units, including medical and surgical oncology. This position requires a dynamic individual who is adaptable and committed to delivering high-quality nursing care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, specifically Epic.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes for patients.
• Perform patient assessments and interventions in both medical and surgical settings.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatments.
• Float between different units as required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience is necessary.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Demonstrated ability to handle a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5 to 1:6.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
