Job Summary:
Maternal Fetal Medicine Ultrasound Specialist in a healthcare setting. This role involves performing a variety of perinatal ultrasound procedures utilizing high-frequency sound waves to evaluate internal organs and vessels for the diagnosis of disease in utero. The technician ensures quality imaging, accurately documents findings, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days, 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree (no specialty/major specified); ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) Sonography (S) or ARDMS certification; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Two years of maternal-fetal ultrasound experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: NT (Nuchal Translucency) certification; Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification.
- Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, obtaining informed consent, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures, positioning patients, assessing patient status, performing diagnostic tests, ensuring quality images, coordinating documentation, communicating effectively with patients and team members, monitoring equipment, ordering supplies, and participating in quality initiatives.
- Flexibility to float to other departments within scope of competency may be required.
- May be required to be placed on-call during scheduled shift.
