Diagnostic mammography

· Breast positioning and compression techniques

· 2D and 3D mammography (Digital Breast Tomosynthesis)

· Magnification and spot compression imaging

· Implant-displaced (Eklund) imaging techniques

· Stereotactic breast biopsy assistance

· Needle localization procedure assistance

· Specimen radiography

· Breast anatomy and pathology knowledge

· Knowledge and application of BI-RADS®

· Image quality assessment and optimization

· Quality control (QC) testing

· Mammography equipment operation and troubleshooting

· Radiation safety and ALARA principles

· MQSA compliance and documentation

· ACR accreditation standards

· Patient screening and history collection

· Infection prevention and standard precautions

· Contrast-Enhanced Mammography (CEM) knowledge (if applicable)

· Bone Density (DEXA) scanning (if applicable)

· EMR/Epic documentation

· PACS image management

· SecureView/Hologic workstation proficiency (or equivalent)

· Equipment calibration and daily QC

· Medical terminology

· HIPAA compliance

· CPR/BLS certification

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) – Radiography [R]
