Key Responsibilities
- Perform mammography procedures in accordance with department protocols, presenting completed studies to the radiologist or physician for interpretation
- Consistently observe patients before, during, and after procedures; apply appropriate immobilization devices and maintain radiation safety standards
- Assist radiologist with special procedures including needle localizations and biopsies; perform all QC on the stereo unit
- Assume responsibility for portions of MQSA quality standards, including processor QA, darkroom fog testing, and screen film testing
- Verify accuracy of all data entered or retrieved from physician orders and the computer system prior to performing procedures
- Collaborate with staff and physicians to ensure optimal patient care; contribute to orientation and training of new staff as needed
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
- Active ARRT(R)(M) certification required
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum 1+ year of hands-on Mammography experience
- Proficiency with GE mammography equipment and EPIC EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with QA/QC processes in a mammography or breast imaging setting
- Familiarity with MQSA quality standards and documentation requirements
- Experience working in an outpatient breast center environment
