Description
American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with 2+ years experience to perform screening, diagnostic, and stereotactic/US-guided procedures in an outpatient community hospital setting.
Details
- Perform outpatient screening and diagnostic mammography exams as well as bone density (DEXA) studies
- Perform stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies, magseed and wire localization placements, and post clip placements
- Inpatient work setting within an acute care community hospital
- 5x8 hour day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, with variable start times (Mon/Fri 08:00-16:30, Tue-Wed-Thu 09:00-17:30)
- Rotating weekend coverage typically every 6th Saturday
- No on-call requirement
- Average caseload of 30-40 patients per day
- No floating outside of scope required
- Meditech charting system experience highly preferred, though training provided during orientation
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist required
- Community hospital experience required
- ARRT (Mammography) certification required
- BLS certification required
- Illinois state license required if applicable (IEMA)
- Registered Breast Ultrasound or Registered Breast Sonographer certification preferred
- Experience with stereotactic biopsy, fine needle aspiration, and needle localizations required
- Experience with post clip placement exams required
- DEXA/bone density experience preferred
- Hologic equipment experience preferred
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Not required to learn new biopsy or localization exam techniques as part of this role

- Facility is an acute care hospital with 154 staffed beds
- Free parking available in designated employee lots
- Imaging staff scrub color is black
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Locals accepted at the same pay rate
- Finalized RTO must be submitted with the candidate profile
- No RTO permitted within the first week of the assignment
- Maximum of 10 days RTO allowed per assignment
